Are We Too Paranoid about Bed Bugs
Are we too paranoid about bed bugs? This is a good question. Many people hate bed bugs and they are afraid of these creatures. But how reasonable this fear really is? Bed bugs can be very annoying. Sure, they are annoying – they feed on our blood and live in our beds! They reproduce very fast, so your home can become crowded with these creatures in very short time. They are capable of having several hundreds of eggs! People are concerned about this problem because they know it is hard to get rid of bed bugs, once they start reproducing. However, are they so dangerous?
Bed Bug Bites – How Dangerous They Can Be
Bed bug bites are not too dangerous. They can become itchy and cause skin irritation, but they cannot cause any serious problems. Fleabites are more dangerous, because fleas can transmit various diseases. Bed bug bites cannot really harm your health. If you have been bitten, you may have small red bumps on your skin. These bites will subside on their own, after a weak or so, and they won’t require any special treatment. The only thing you have to worry about is itching. These bites can be itchy and you may scratch your skin during the night and cause irritation. Sometimes, scratching can leave scars. If your kid has been bitten, it will be difficult to explain that he must not scratch the skin. However, this rash will go away. As you can see, there is no need to panic. If you want, you can visit your dermatologist and ask for some cream or lotion to use before bed. That should keep you safe during the night. You can also use some great home remedies to calm your skin.
Bed bugs can be eliminated from your house in a very simple way. You can call professional carpet and furniture cleaners. After that, you will have to maintain the hygiene in the house and do the regular vacuuming.
You can use some chemicals made for these purposes. Of course, before you start using any of these, you must read the label and see if these products are harmful to pets and humans.
You should remove your old furniture from the house. Try keeping the house free of any old stuff. This should help you prevent new bed bugs.
As you can see, it is not a big deal! Bed bug bites are not so dangerous, and you can eliminate these little blood suckers from your home. If you have any experience, feel free to share it!

I think we are. Really, can they really be as bad as we think they are? I mean, we all know that they are annoying, but they cannot give you any disease. All you can get is itchiness and skin rash that will go away in very short time. I had bed bugs, so I know how irritating this can be. But people are just too frightened! Flea bites are far more dangerous, compared to bed bug bites. Fleas can give you all kinds of diseases, and they are definitely more common. Dogs and cats are popular as pets, and nearly everyone has one or more. You should take good care about your animals; otherwise, you can have a big problem! Bed bugs are horrible, but they are not as common as fleas. And they are definitely not as dangerous. Keeping the house clean should prevent them, and you should also get rid of your old furniture. Or, you can keep it in good condition to avoid all kinds of pest. That’s what I did. It is good to use some kind of protection against bugs, but you should not do it if you have kids or pets. Anyway, we have so many different products to choose from, so you can easily get one of those.
Well, Amy seems to have the point, but I cannot agree with her completely. I mean, if you had any kids, you would be a bit more concerned with bedbugs. Adults are not as sensitive as kids, and they can certainly control their urge to scratch, but kids can’t. And this can lead to scars, which can get infected and then your kid can have nasty scars all over his face and even get some kind of skin infection. Sometimes we are too paranoid about all kinds of things (I blame the media, they bomb us with all kinds of information, some of which can really spread paranoia among people), but those who have kids know that you can never be too cautious. I mean, we (adults) can deal with anything, but kids are really vulnerable and sensitive! It is good to know more about bed bugs and about not only these bugs, but other bugs as well. Fleas and ticks are very dangerous, and if you have pets, you should be very careful! Kids love dogs and cats, so if you keep any of these, pay a lot of attention to their hygiene!
