  2. I must confess that I knew nothing about bedbugs at the time I got them! I was a bit confused when I woke up one morning, to find some reddish pimples on my face. I had no idea where it came from. I use cotton bedclothes and I knew I definitely did not react to this material. I knew I wasn’t allergic to anything, so I thought that these rashes could come from some insects, like spiders maybe. I haven’t seen any spiders in my home for a very long time now, and it crossed my mind that perhaps those were fleas. I have a cat in the house, but he seems to be clean. I searched for fleas, but found nothing. Then my neighbor came and when she saw the bites, she said: “Lyn, you have bed bugs!” I said “What?” I had no idea what these bugs were, what they looked like or what they did. Now, my neighbor is an older lady who know so much about … well, anything! She gave me this calamine lotion and I used it for my skin. It was quite good and I felt relieved. The rashes just vanished after a week or so. I searched the Internet to learn more about these creatures and I found that it is very difficult to spot them. They hide in the wall cracks, closets, and bed frames, so you don’t know whether you have them, because you can’t see them. It seems to me that skin rashes are the most reliable sign of bedbugs. If you see reddish bumps on you skin, and you don’t have any logical explanation for these, you may have these bugs in your house!
